How to Keep Visitors Coming Back
Big sites have more returning visitors, and this is major part of their traffic. It’s very important to keep visitors come back to site. If site have no good content or not looking or feeling good to visitors then they will never come back. Coming visitors can also help you in sales if you are selling anything.
Here are some tips to keep them coming.
1. Update frequently - Update you site frequently with fresh content so every time when someone come at your site, he will have something to read on your site. But most of webmasters are lazy to update their sites. This is the best way to keep visitors coming because no one want to browse same content everytime. So update your site daily if possible.

Alexa rank updated after long time
Alexa changed their ranking system on 15 April. After that day Alexa didn’t updated rank for long time. Today I saw my all sites ranking is updated. I got better ranking on most of sites. My PR2 free directory that was ~500k is now ~800k. My Bidding and paid directories now with better ranking, hope they will get more link so I can earn more money form them.
Some big blogs are dropping Alexa rank and most of them are webmaster blog that has webmaster traffic. Now all types of sites can get better ranking. Its not limited to webmaster sites.
I will try to sell some sites and domain in coming days because I need money to buy a new laptop.
Difference between Targeted and Untargeted Traffic
Traffic is important for any websites. If you have good PageRank or Good technorati rank at your blog but no traffic then it will not benifit you unless you sell some paid links but its against search engines to sell links. If you have no PR and very low technorati but still have good traffic then you can earn good money form ads.
Targeted Traffic is visitors who are really intrested in your site’s content or they want from your site what they are looking for like if some one wants wallpaper and he comes to your wallpaper site then it targeted traffic.
The best way to get targeted traffic is Search Engines and Pay Per Click ads. From search engines people who search and come to your site to get something and at PPC visitors only click on your ads and come to your site if they are interested, if they are not interested then they neither click on PPC ads nor search at Search Engines. SEO can help you to get better SERP and it will increase your targeted traffic.
Untargeted Traffic is visitors who are not intrested in your content. They need diffrent thing then you have in your site like a webmaster blog is useless for a person who is looking for his favorite actress wallpapers. If can improve Alexa ranks and also earn you some bucks from ads but its useless for your site and waste of bandwidth and resources.
Its easy to get untargeted traffic, you can get it for free from many ways. Stumble gives you lot of traffic, its a mix of both targeted and untargeted traffic. If you get frontpage at Digg then you are going to have lot of untargeted traffic. Most of times buying traffic from GPT site is also comes in this category because visitors visit your site for money, they are not intrested in your content.
So if traffic is main thing for you then get any type of traffic but if you really care about your site and want to get full of your content try to get targeted traffic for your wesites. The best thing is you don’t need to spend single buck for it, you can get it for free just need some hard work.
New Ranking System at Alexa
I just checked my all sites ranking and I shocked that they improved very fast. Alexa has changed their ranking system. It was based on users of Alexa toolbar but now they are using other sources too that will make ranking more accurate.
Now all sites will get better ranking. They are not telling their secret this time but I think it will available in some month. They worked hard on users suggestion to improve their system. Many people who didn’t trust in Alexa ranking will start using this after this update. I checked many sites who had better rank but now their ranking is not good.
