Google Apps for your sites
What is Google Apps?
Google apps is free/paid service from Google for webmasters. There are different services and cost for all services. We will talk about only for webmasters.
To get the best of Google apps you need complete DNS management . If not then you can’t use all services. Lets start by hitting Google Apps.
Now you are at Google Apps homepage. You can find 3 types of solutions. Choose Businesses and employees
Now click on get started. You will see option for free and paid versions. If you need more features and got lot of money to spend then choose paid version, I am using free version at this Time. Then Sign up for any version you want. I will guide you to free version as I don’t need paid features this time. After it you will be asked for your domain name. If you don’t have domain name then this guide is not for you. Enter your domain name that you want to be with Google Apps and hit Get Started. Then you need to fill simple form. If you are webmaster then you are used to it. After filling form you can get you mail address from Apps that will use to manage your account. Now your account is ready for you.

Wordpress 2.5 is here
Oh! Finally it released. Wordpress 2.5 just released some hour ago. I am very excited to use it. You can read more about it here Wordpress 2.5. My 2 new sites are waiting for this version. I am going to use this release as a CMS ( static sites). I will make a personal site and a celebrity site. I don’t think I will update them because they are static and no need of any changes. I may update to some security release, lot of people are trying to find hole in this script and damage blogs.
But I am not going to use it at my blog this time. I am using lot of plugins at my blog, first I will install this release in my local PC then check all plugins I am using if it works then I will update my blog. It may take 2-3 days as I am very lazy.
If you have blog on wordpress then I advise you to update now. Its a totally changed version of wordpress. Lot of new features. Wordpress.org has also changes there wholse site with new look form that old fashioned white look. It looking better now.
Going to use Wordpress Automatic Upgrade
I logged in into my wordpress admin panel to check some comment and remove spam comment. I was getting lot of spam comment. One of my post got 200 spam comment in one day, most of them made by bots. I think its because I am using older version of wordpress and its not safe.
The best thing in blogger I like that I don’t need to update it. Just add a good theme add some widgets and start posting, no need to worry about security and hosting. But I need more power and control over my blog and thats not possible with blogger.
I saw a news at my dashboard There’s never been a better time to upgrade WordPres I read this and came to know that I must upgrade my wordpress installation. I am using 2.3.1 this time and the latest is 2.3.3. I was waiting for 2.5 so I don’t need to waste my time again and again. In that post I read about Wordpress Automatic Upgrade. I think I must give this plugin a try as it will save my time. It will do all thing itself. It will make backup of files, then inactive plugins and install latest release of wordpress. I don’t need to do anything. I will first check that my all plugins are compatible with new version, I don’t want to get any problem in this situation that make my blog disappear.

This is first time I am updating my wordpress installation lets see what happen. May be you will not able to see my blogs for some hours to days. I will try my best as I always do.
Update
Now I have updated to latest version of wordpress with help of this plugin. I used automatic mode that made me to do noting. I just click on a link and it done all thing itself. Hope I will not face any problem till the next wordpress release.
Winner of free Domain name for Tagline
I made a contest on 9 march for a Free Domain name. I said that I will decide winner on 27 march but I was little busy yesterday so announcing winner today.
